(Danbury, Conn.) As Autumn concludes the Danbury Cultural Commission Calendar remains full. There are events in the City practically every weekend from now to the end of the year.

 

The Danbury Cultural Commission shows a full December calendar.

 

Starting with the Danbury Music Centre’s production of Handel's Messiah on December 3, 2016.

 

In this performance the Danbury Symphony Orchestra will be joined by Pianist Claudia Knafo for Bach’s F minor Concerto No. 5 and Piazzola’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.  The DSO will also play Sylvestre Revuelta’s epic La Noche de los Mayas

The Danbury Music Centre continues their traditional Holiday season with Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker with four performances on the weekend of December 9 through 11th.  

 

It’s time! Danbury’s Beloved Nutcracker is returning in December! Watch for box office opening

This wonderful Danbury tradition features over 200 dancers, accompanied by the Danbury Symphony Orchestra who play Tchaikovsky’s score, live!

And at the Palace Danbury on Friday December 16, 17 and 18 is Take a Holiday

About the Commission
The Danbury Cultural Commission was formed by the City Charter in 1967. The 11 members continue to encourage within the City of Danbury, participation in, and promotion, development, acceptance and appreciation of, artistic and cultural activities which include, but are not limited to music, theatre, dance, painting, sculpture, architecture, literature, films and allied arts and crafts, and to this end may join with private patrons and with institutions and professional organizations. The Commission office hours are Monday, and Wednesday 8:00 to 11:00 A.M. and by appointment, and meets each fourth Monday in their Main Street office. Mr. Harvey Center is Chairman.
